Saqqara and Memphis
Saqqara, located near modern-day Memphis in Egypt, is a vast necropolis that served as the burial ground for the ancient city of Memphis. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is famous for its step pyramid, which was built for King Djoser by the legendary architect Imhotep. Saqqara offers a glimpse into the rich history and culture of this ancient civilization, showcasing impressive architectural feats and intricate hieroglyphic inscriptions. Visitors can explore the labyrinthine passages of Djoser’s step pyramid or marvel at the intricate reliefs found within the tomb complexes. Dahshur Pyramids
ِِAfter Lunch, the tour continues to visit Dahshur Pyramids. Located about 40 kilometers south of Cairo, the Dahshur necropolis is home to two stunning pyramids – the Bent Pyramid and the Red Pyramid.
The Bent Pyramid gets its name from its unusual shape, as its angles change partway up which gives it a bent appearance and The Red Pyramid, on the other hand, is known for being one of the earliest examples of true pyramid construction in Egypt, both pyramids were built during the reign of Pharaoh Sneferu in the 26th century BC. At the conclusion of your tour, we will ensure that you are safely escorted back to your hotel.
