WHAT EXPECT
Picked up really early from your hotel in Hurghada. You’ll be riding in a really awesome air-conditioned car to go see some of the coolest temples in Luxor. Let’s see what you’ll get to check out:
Temple of Karnak – Luxor
The Temple of Karnak is an ancient temple built between 2055 BC and 100 ADS for the gods Amun, Mut, and Khonsu. People worshipped and made offerings there. After visiting the temple, you’ll have lunch and free time in Luxor for shopping and sightseeing. Then, you’ll ride a traditional felucca boat across the Nile River to the west bank.
Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir El Bahari – Luxor
Once you reach the west bank of the Nile, get ready to visit some amazing sights! We’ll first visit The Hatshepsut Temple.
Hatshepsut was a truly unique figure in the history of Ancient Egypt. She was the only female pharaoh to ever rule the kingdom, and she did so during a time of great prosperity and peace.
Hatshepsut came to power after the death of her father, Tuthmose I, and her half-brother and husband, Tuthmose II. She took the throne and became one of the most successful pharaohs in Egyptian history. One of Hatshepsut’s greatest achievements was expanding trade routes to the land of Punt in the south.
Valley of the Kings – Luxor
Have you ever heard of The Valley of the Kings? It’s a super cool place in Egypt where kings and their families were buried a long time ago, like way back in the 16th to 11th century BC. They put all their stuff in there too, like their favorite things and treasures.
One of the most famous tombs in The Valley of the Kings is Pharaoh Tutankhamun’s. This tomb is full of amazing treasures and artifacts that show what life was like in ancient Egypt. It’s like going back in time and seeing all the cool things they had back then. It’s pretty awesome!
Colossi of Memnon – Luxor
One of the coolest places to visit in Luxor is the Colossi of Memnon. These giant statues are famous for their grand appearance and the strange sounds that come from one of them at sunrise. They used to guard the Temple of Amenhotep III and were supposed to keep evil away. Even though the temple is gone, the Colossi of Memnon are still standing tall. After exploring this amazing site, we’ll take you back to your hotel in Hurghada with memories that will last a lifetime.
