On this adventure, you’ll get to see two really important places from ancient times-Abydos and Dendera. Plus, you’ll learn all about Osiris, the ancient Egyptian god, and the mighty pharaohs who ruled long ago.
Your friendly Egyptologist guide will come to pick you up from your hotel in Hurghada, and then you’ll take a nice, easy drive to the Abydos Temple. There, you’ll discover why this spot was once thought to be one of the most sacred places on the planet. It’s going to be an awesome day filled with history and fun!
Abydos Temple:
The Abydos Temple is one of the coolest and oldest temples in Egypt! It’s super special because it’s linked to Osiris, the god who watches over the afterlife. When you visit, you can find out all about the Osiris cult and even see the entrance to the underworld! Plus, don’t miss the Seti Temple nearby, which has amazing carvings that are some of the best from the New Kingdom. It’s like stepping into a real-life history book!
Osireion Bath:
The Osireion Bath is a really cool place that’s all about water! It was built right on top of some old underground springs, which are like natural water fountains. You can find it behind the Temple of Seti I, and it’s pretty low down-about 18 meters below ground! If you go on this tour, you’ll have the chance to check it out (Optional) and discover more about the famous kings and queens from long ago.
Dendera Temple:
Now, let’s hop in the car and head over to the Dendera Temple! This place is super cool because it’s one of the best-kept temples in all of Egypt. It was built a long time ago when the Greeks and Romans were around, and it’s all about Hathor, the goddess of love, happiness, and music. You’ll see amazing artwork that shows Roman leaders hanging out with Egyptian gods, plus a stunning statue of Queen Cleopatra VII!
