After breakfast, get ready for an exciting adventure to see the amazing sights of ancient Egypt! You’ll have a knowledgeable Egyptologist as your guide to take you to the Giza Pyramids Complex. Here, you can check out the Great Pyramids of Giza, the Pyramid of Khafre, the Pyramid of Menkaure, and the Great Sphinx. These pyramids are the last remaining wonders from the ancient world! After exploring the pyramids, we’ll stop by a special shop where you can buy real papyrus paper at good prices.

Next, we’ll head to the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, which has the largest collection of ancient artifacts in the world—over 250,000 items! You’ll even see treasures from King Tutankhamun, which were hidden in his tomb for more than 3,500 years until they were found in the early 1900s.

In Old Cairo, we’ll visit the Hanging Church, Abu Serga Church, and Ben Ezra Synagogue. After all that, you’ll have some free time to relax or explore the pyramids at night, where you can enjoy a cool Sound & Light Show if you want!

Overnight: Cairo | Meals: Breakfast

Day 3: Cairo – Aswan – Nile Cruise

In the early morning, you’ll catch a flight from Cairo to Aswan. Once you arrive, you’ll hop on a fancy 5-star Nile cruise ship where you can freshen up a bit. Then, it’s time to visit the impressive High Dam of Aswan!

Your tour guide will tell you all about how building the dam and creating Lake Nasser meant that many Nubian people had to move, along with some important historical sites like Abu Simbel, which you can see tomorrow if you want.

After that, you’ll take a short boat ride to Agilkia Island to check out the Philae Temple, which is dedicated to the goddess Isis. This temple was built a long time ago during the Ptolemaic Kingdom, and Isis is one of the oldest goddesses in ancient Egypt! Philae Temple is known for being one of the most beautiful temple complexes in Egypt, and it’s sure to impress everyone who visits!

Overnight: Nile Cruise | Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner

Day 4: Aswan – Kom Ombo – Edfu

Rise and shine for an exciting adventure to the Abu Simbel Temples in Egypt! These amazing structures were built a long, long time ago, back in the 13th century BC, when Pharaoh Ramses II ruled. They’re part of a special area called the Nubian Ruins, which is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After exploring these incredible temples, you’ll return to your cruise ship on the Nile River in Aswan (this part is optional).

Next, we’re setting sail to Kom Ombo, our next exciting destination! Here, you’ll get to explore the Temple of Kom Ombo, which is found in the city of Kom Ombo. This temple is really cool because it honors two different gods: Sobek, who is the crocodile god, and Harwer, the falcon god (also called Horus the Elder). What’s super interesting about this temple is that it has two sides, each with its own special area for the gods. The right side is for Sobek, and the left side is for Harwer. Once you finish checking out the temple, it’s time to hop back on the Nile Cruise and head to Edfu for even more adventures!

Overnight: Nile Cruise | Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner

Day 5:  Edfu – Luxor

Get ready for an exciting trip to the Temple of Edfu! This amazing ancient Egyptian temple is dedicated to the god Horus and was built a long time ago, starting in 237 BC and finishing in 57 BC. After you explore this incredible temple, make your way to Luxor.

In Luxor, you’ll get to check out the East Bank. Your first stop will be the Karnak Temple Complex, which is super big and honors the god Amun. There are lots of temples, chapels, statues, and tall obelisks to see.

Next, don’t miss Luxor Temple, which is dedicated to three important gods: Amun, Mut, and Khons. These gods were really important during the Opet Festival, which happened every year when the Nile flooded. You’re going to have a blast discovering these ancient places!

Overnight: Nile Cruise | Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner

Day 6: Luxor – Cairo

Ready for an epic adventure? Start your day with a hot air balloon ride at sunrise and get a bird’s-eye view of ancient Egypt! You’ll have the chance to snap some amazing photos to remember this incredible experience. It’s totally up to you, but you won’t regret it!

After floating in the sky, grab some breakfast before you meet your tour guide. You’ll explore the West Bank of Luxor, right across the Nile River. Don’t miss the Valley of the Kings, where 62 tombs of famous pharaohs are hidden. These tombs are super cool, filled with stunning artwork that tells stories from Egypt’s history.

Next up is the Hatshepsut Temple, built for Queen Hatshepsut, the only woman to ever rule Egypt. This temple is built right into a cliff and has two different sections from various times in history, making it look really awesome.

Before you head back to the airport, check out the Colossi of Memnon, which are giant statues that will blow your mind. Then, it’s time to fly back to Cairo and relax at your hotel.

1 review for Egypt: Marvels of Ancient Egypt – 7 Days

  1. Mariam William

My husband and I went on the Marvels of Ancient Egypt Tour and it was amazing! This was my second time visiting Egypt, but my first time going on a tour with Pharaohs Tours. I can’t wait to go back and do another tour with them. The itinerary was fantastic – we never felt rushed, and traveling by boat was a fun change from being stuck in a minivan all day. Our guide, Mazen, was awesome. He had a great sense of humor, was polite, kind, efficient, and super knowledgeable. He was always willing to help with anything we needed. We learned so much about Ancient Egyptian History on this trip.
